"These are glimpses of bliss that I would like to freeze in time"
Pavlina Alea is a classically trained artist, born and raised in Bulgaria. The main force behind the choice of her career was her father, an architect, who noticed her natural talent and encouraged her to study art since the age of 10. Along the way, she attended the Fine Art magnet high school in Sofia, where the contact with talented peers pushed her skills to new levels. She later attended The National Academy of Art, the most prestigious higher education art school in Bulgaria. She would later earn her MFA in Painting from that same Academy.
In 2002, she decided to further her studies in the United States. She moved to Philadelphia, PA and was accepted to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Pavlina lived in Miami for over ten years where she has exhibited her artworks in top-rated art festivals. She often travels abroad in search of inspiration and has completed monumental public art projects around the country.
