Humberto Flores is an architect and artist who currently lives and works in the Mexico border with U.S. He has studied art with influential artists and in prestigious universities. Also, Humberto has exhibited his art in galleries and art fairs internationally, but his talent began time ago.

     “A memory of my childhood reminds me some day when a mentor and carpenter gave me a gift. He manufactured several postcard size wood frames for my small drawings. I mounted the little artworks on the frames, and my mother sold all of them for less than a dollar each. I was only seven years old. For people, I guess, the frame was more valuable than my drawings, but for me, it was the best experience; the thrill of being a successful artist. At that time, I realized that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life”, he expresses.

     His training in architecture has influenced his artwork. Buildings, Art Déco or aerial views of cities can be found in some of his paintings. Moreover, his style is inspired by geometric abstraction, avant-garde movements, and abstract art in general. The work of Russian artist Kandinsky has impacted Humberto's art, and as a lover of the Surrealists, he has improved the “fumage”, a Surreal technique.

     Flores images are like a journey through the intangible world. The artists' motivations come from the unknown, or rather from the imperceptible: the relation of heaven and earth; good and evil; spirit and soul. As far as Humberto's style is concerned, the artist described his own technique as the search for balance between color and texture.
